Meet the Cast:

Philostrate/Puck - Scott Brown
Scott is happy to be returning to the Park Players stage. He was last seen as Dromio of Syracuse in “the Comedy of Errors” in 2001 and as Roderigo In Othello this season.





Theseus/Oberon - Jonathan Goldstein
Jonathan is happy to be making his Park Players debut. His most recent roles include Elliot in BFT's Apartment 3a and Al in the Dane Peterson Theatre Series production of A Chorus Line. Jonathan was trained professionally at Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York City, and has been active in local theatre for many years. He sends much thanks to all of his friends and family for their continuing support.




Hippolyta/Titania - Gabrielle Metz
Gabrielle is very excited to be performing her 4th play with the Park Players. She really enjoyed being a part of the Park Players inaugural season's performance of "The Taming of the Shrew" as well as last years "Merry Wives of Windsor" & "Much Ado About Nothing". She has also starred as Mollie Ralston in "The Mousetrap" (November 2002) and been in "Amadeus" (December 2000) and "Cabaret" (May 2003) at Theater LJCC, as well as in many other local plays and musicals. When not working on the stage, Gabrielle is employed as a clinical social worker.



Lysander - Adam Mazer
Adam is excited to make his debut with Park Players in "A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM". He graduated in May from Indian Springs School, where some of his previous roles included Herr Schultz in "CABARET", the Author in "EPISODE IN THE LIFE OF AN AUTHOR", Arthur Birling in "AN INSPECTOR CALLS", Lazar Wolf in "FIDDLER ON THE ROOF", Horace in "TIME FLIES", and Mr. Webb in "OUR TOWN". Adam would like to thank Elizabeth Holcomb, his family, and his friends. He will be attending Brown University in September.

Demetrius - Jamie Shor
Jamie Schor is a sophomore theatre major at the University of Montevallo. In high school he played an array of roles from Jekyl/Hyde to Daniel. In his first year at Montevallo has been in UM's College Night purple side musical 'Nothin' To Lose' as a variety of characters, UM's spring theatre production of 'A Class Act' as Dr. Nodine, and in 'The Belle Reprieve' as Mitch. He played Cassio in this year's "Othello". He would like to thank the Park Players for giving him this wonderful opportunity.



Hermia - Nadia Perry
Nadia is thrilled about her debut with Park Players; it will be her first show outside of her current high school, Indian Springs School. An aspiring actress, Nadia hopes to continue studying theatre arts in college and always to maintain a love for the stage. Her past performances have included: The Bald Soprano, Gypsy (Mazeppa), Our Town (Mrs. Soames), Baby with the Bathwater, Fiddler on the Roof (Yente), An Inspector Calls, Episodes in the Life of an Author and Cabaret (Fraulein Schneider). She would like to dedicate this performance to Elizabeth Holcomb, for being such an awesome woman.



Helena - Jessica Walston
Jessica is excited to be working with the Park Players for the first time, and is happy to be performing Shakespeare again. Currently a Junior at the Alabama School of Fine Arts, she appeared on stage in The Madwoman of Chaillot, The Good Times Are Killing Me, scenes from Horton Foote’s The Dancers, and in Twelfth Night as Viola. She is happy to be working with others who love Shakespeare and playing outside.



Egeus - John Eccles
John is delighted to be returning to the Park players after a year's hiatus. He was last seen in the "The Taming of the Shrew" and in "The Comedy of Errors". If you have trouble identifying his accent that may have something to do with his having been born in England, raised in Africa and educated in Kenya, England, Ireland and the USA.




Nick Bottom - Clay Boyce
Clay is the artistic director and founder of Park Players. His time is spent trying to catch up on his sleep. Some of his favorite roles have been George in "Of Mice and Men", Fagin in "Oliver!" and the title role in "Hamlet". He would like to thank his wife, Vicki and his daughter, Victoria for all the love and support they have given him in the last three years!

Peter Quince - Terry Hermes
This will be Terry's second year performing with the Park Players, and he is proud to be a member of this troupe. He appeared in both of last summer's Shakespeare productions. This past December he played the lead role of Ralph the narrator/storyteller in ACTA's production of A Christmas Story. Recently, he performed a monologue as Mark Twain for The Mind's Eye , a benefit variety show at the Alabama Theater. He will also co-star in the Park Players production of Headset this summer.



Francis Flute - Dino Spezzini
Dino is Currently a sophomore at the University of Montevallo, majoring in theatre, and Works part time at the Birmingham Zoo. He is fluent in both English and Spanish, and his favorite color is red. A Sagittarius at birth he likes long walks in the park.




Robin Starveling - Tanner McCracken
This production is Tanner's Third production with Park Players, having played Sr. Hugh Evans in Merry Wives of Windsor and Borachio in Much Ado About Nothing. Previous credits include Arcadia, Once upon a Mattress, Bye Bye Birdie and Godspell. In his real life, he makes his living begging for hand outs (sometimes called waiting tables) at a restaurant in Pelham. He resides partly in Columbiana, partly in his own head.



Tom Snout - Raymond Quintero
Raymond was last seen in the Centerstage Production of “Me and My Girl”, previous roles include “The Odd Couple”, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”, “Amadeus” with L.J.C.C., “Hair”, “Gilligan’s Island, the Musical”, “South Pacific”, “The Music Man” & “Mame” for Centerstage Productions. He has also been seen in the South City Theatre production of “You Can’t Take it With You.” Raymond is employed by American Cast Iron Pipe.



Snug the Joiner - Clark Vines
Clark was born in Happy Home Al., and raised in Graysville, AL. He holds an MA in history from the University of Montevallo. When not working in theatre, Anthony enjoys making independent films working in the same above-mentioned capacities.




Cobweb - Sky Geerts
Skye is a newcomer to the Park Players this season. She is a recent graduate of the Alabama School of Fine Arts in Theatre. She has performed at ASFA in Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" as the Lady Olivia, Jean Giradoux's "Madwoman of Challiot" as the Countess Aurelia, and in "Backstory" as Ainsley among other roles. She has also worked with the Canterbury Players in "Brigadoon" and "Oliver" and was in Samford's "Children of Eden". This summer she is looking forward to working with the Park Players in both "Othello" and "Midsummer Night's Dream".

Peaseblossom - Emily Thomas
Emily is a junior at Hoover High school and in her second year of the Hoover Drama Department. She has done many student directed and written plays. This is her first real play and is thrilled to be doing it! Her plans for the future are to go to collage and experience as much as she can in the world of acting. She would like to dedicate this performance to all the professional actors and actress that influence her.

Mustardseed - Victoria Boyce
Victoria has been helping Park Players since they opened their "doors" three years ago. She has served as an assistant to the director (her dad) and head usher. She is thrilled to be on stage with her "old man" and hopes to act in more shows next year. She would like to thank her mom, Vicki, for all her love and support.




The Director - Steven Ross
One of the Founding members of Park Players, Steven is making his directorial debut with "A Midsummer Nights Dream". A Birmingham Native He fell in love with theatre in high School. After a fifteen-year absence in theatre Steven returned to the stage with the Canterbury players, playing Tito Mereli in "Lend me a Tenor" in 1997. Since then he has been part of several Canterbury productions and has also been seen on stage with LJCC, Garden Variety Shakespeare, and four Park Player Productions. When approached with the opportunity to help Park Players get started he jumped at the chance and took on roles as Location Manager, Publicity, Box Office, Actor, Grip, sound, Lighting and all around Gofer. He would like to dedicate this show to his cast and his dog Bella.

Props Master - Kimberly Jade Tompkins
Kimberly is thrilled to be participating on her first Park Players Production. Kimberly is currently pursuing a Theatre Design/Tech major at UAB. She spent last semester in Carmel, CA on a Stage Management Internship with Pacific Repertory Theatre. There she served as an assistant stage manager on such shows as Blood Brothers and Meshuggah-Nuns. At Pacific Repertory Theatre, she also stage managed The Complete History of America and studied scene painting under Disney Animator Ron Dias. Last Fall, she directed & produced an original musical, Let's Put On A Show!. She has also worked with the Alabama Ballet on Romeo & Juliet and The Nutcracker. In Jan, she stage managed the Alabama Dance Council's Dance Showcase at the Alys Stevens Center, which featured 15 dance companies from around the east coast. Her other favorite shows include Much Ado About Nothing (ASM), Sophie Tucker (ASM & Spot Op), and Blue/Orange (Stage Manager) under Emmy Award Winning Director Lamont Johnson. Kimberly wishes to thank God and her family for supporting her in everything she has done!
